(/) 700 (a) Additional expenditure is required to meet the requirements of the Army Department. (b) The sum of £3,000 placed on Main Estimates is already overcommitted. Urgent protective works due to erosion and other causes require further provision to be made. (c) As a result of deterioration in stopbanks near the mouth of the Pongakawa River, urgent maintenance work is required to prevent tidal flooding. A credit-in-aid of £180 will be received from the Te Puke Elaxmilling Co. (d) An unaccountable shortage of £10 in an officer's pay envelope was discovered. The shortage has been made good by the Department with the necessary approval, and an item is required to enable charging to be effected. (e) Through an oversight special rates of £18 19s. 7d. for which the Crown was legally liable were not paid when due and became statute-barred. Approval has been given to the payment of the amount, and this item is therefore required. (/) Provision for payment to the Swamp Land Drainage Account of drainage rates on unoccupied Crown Lands.
