Praying for inquiry into certain alleged unfair and irregular proceedings of the Wellington City Council relative to roading and drainage works. I am directed to report that the member in charge of the petition, having expressed a desire to withdraw same, the Committee recommends that he be allowed to do so. 22nd November, 1933.

No. 242, 1932-33. —Petition of A. H. Rae, of Auckland. Praying for compensation in respect of injuries allegedly suffered while employed by the Auckland Transport Board. I am directed to report that in the opinion of the Committee the petition should be referred to the Government for consideration. 22nd November, 1933.

No. 182, 1932-33. —Petition of O'Kane Bros., of Hamilton. Praying for relief in connection with work done at the new Courthouse, Hamilton, and not paid for. I am directed to report that the Committee has no recommendation to make respecting the prayer of the petitioners ; but is of the opinion that when a State Department approves of a subcontractor the Department should require the sub-contractor to take the necessary steps to secure payment of the sub-contract price. 22nd November, 1933.
