No. 1 of Session 11, 1918.—Petition of W. S. Maclntosh, of Hedgehope, Southland. Praying for compensation for disabilities sustained in the Boer War. I am directed to report that in the opinion of the Committee this petition should be referred to the Government for favourable consideration, with a view to petitioner being granted a compassionate allowance in the form of a weekly, payment of ,£1 per week. sth December, 1918.

No. 12 of Session I, 1918.—Petition of H. L. Wortiiington, of Petone. I'raying for the enforcement, of a certain Order in Council and compensation. I am directed to report that, having regard to the Prime' Minister's statement to petitioner in his letter of the 6th April last —that he was advised by the Colonial Office, in effect, that there was nothing in the Paris Sanitary Convention, 1912, to prevent the enforcement of the New Zealand Order in Council of the 3rd April, 1913—the Committee is of opinion that such Order should be given effect to forthwith, and therefore refers the petition to the Government for favourable consideration. sth December, 1918.
