Miss Marks accidentally put her hand too far into the machine, when her fingers were caught in the eccentric, causing injury to them. Miss Heald permitted her right hand to get between rollers while feeding machine, when the third and fourth fingers were crushed. When cutting tin Smith allowed his hand to come into contact with the knife of the machine. Nelson allowed his right hand to slip into the back of the knives. when his arm was drawn in. The arm was lacerated, and it had to be amputated above the elbow. When putting wire into machine Howard's right hand got caught by the wheels and the fingers were crushed. The loose driving-belt had become wound round the shaft, and inorder to put it on the stone Cartner caught hold of the revolving end of it, when he was drawn over the shaft. His arm w-as badly injured, and it had to be taken off. Buchan wastighteningupthe socket-rod when his left hand slipped and was caught in the cog-wheels, causing the injury to the second finger. While engaged testing knives for height on the machine Chisholm's fingers were drawn on to the knives, when he lost three of them. Jerome was adjusting belt on the shaft when his clothes got entangled in the shifting and he was drawn round. His head and his chest were bruised. Through inattention Miss Jeffrey got the index finger of right hand between the spokes of a revolving wheel. It was crushed and had to be amputated. Tyrell accidentally got third and fourth fingers of left hand caught in the cogs, crushing them. Miss Tolmie was cleaning loom while in motion when the wrist of her right hand was caught between the wheel and the frame, causing laceration of the flesh. Parker allowed his right forefinger to come under the die, whe c it was crushed. ' Morris's left hand came into contact with the knives. Miss Jacobsen's fourth finger of right hand was accidentally caught between rollers on ruling-machine and was crushed. Shearer's left hand came into contact with the knives, causing injury to two of the fingers and portion of hand. Miss Carrington accidentally started the machine while the second finger of her left hand was under the stitcher. When feeding machine Warnock's arm was drawn into the scutcher. The hand and forearm were so seriously injured that the arm had to be amputated a little below the elbow*. Hodgson's right thumb touched the saw and was cut.
