Christchurch Domain. Parts of Reserves Nos. 24 and 25, Block XI, Christchurch Survej District. Area, 495 acres. During the year further portions of the domain have been improved, ami a substantial tea kiosk and a glasshouse erected. A cart-bridge was erected over the river, and new paths formed and others altered and extended. A large sum was raised by means of a fete, and a similar fete is being arranged for the ensuing year. Improvements now on domain : Fencing, iron and other gates, avenues, walks, carriage-drives, magnetic observatory, museum, house for head gardener, cottage for park ranger and garden caretaker, tool-shed, three hothouses, spade-house, four large and several small bridges, lawns, walks, water-tanks, motor-pump, artesian wells, three lakes, nursery, trees, and tea-kiosk. About 8 chains fencing removed and re-erected, old sod fence pulled down and replaced by wire fence; half the cost of the latter was borne by the Domain Board. Improvements now on domain : Sod fences with gorse and wire, trees, two lawn-tennis courts, and wooden building. Used chiefly for tennis. Proposed operations for ensuing year : Trim ming hedges and grubbing gorse. It is proposed to lease the area for grazing. Domett Domain.
