Seventeen private wires, aggregating 3 miles 73 chains, were erected. There are 23 authorised but uncompleted construction-works. Some of these are nearing completion, and others will be proceeded with as soon as practicable. They include extensions to new districts, and new wires on present lines to improve existing services.
