Petitioner prays for compensation for loss sustained during the Maori war. I am directed to report that, in the opinion of the Committee, this petition should be referred to the Government for favourable consideration, and that the Government be recommended to give effect to the award made by Judge Beckham, and place the sum on the supplementary estimates to compensate the petitioner. 27th October, 1906.
