TOKATOKA, iiIURSDAY, 25l'H MAY, 1905. The Commission left Dargaville by steamer, and met at Tokatoka at 10 a.m. Present: All the Commissioners except Messrs. Hall and Johnston, absent on leave. The following witnesses were heard : Messrs. Clark, Thompson, Edson, Walton, and, after adjourning to the steamer, Moloughney. The Commission adjourned at 12.40, proceeding by steamer to Helensville.

Helensville, Thursday, 25th Mat, 1905. The Commission met (in committee) at 7.30. Present: All the Commissioners but Mr. Hall, absent on leave. It was decided to divide the Commission into two parts, and itineraries were fixed; one half taking Kawhia and the the southern portion of the Auckland District, the other proceeding through the Taranaki and Wellington Districts and part of the Hawke's Bay District to Wellington. The meeting adjourned at 11 p.m. Helensville, Friday, 26th May, 1905. The Commission met at 10 a.m. Present: All the Commissioners except Messrs. Hall and Johnston, absent on leave. The following witnesses were heard : Messrs. Marks, Prior, Phillipps, Keir, Taylor, McLeod, Ambury, Wilson, Manning, Dawson, and Ortish. The Commission adjourned at 2.50 p.m., and proceeded to Auckland by 3.20 train. Auckland, Saturday, 27th May, 1905. The Commission met at 9.45. Present: All the Commissioners except Mr. Johnston, absent on sick-leave. In committee the minutes were read and confirmed of the meetings at Dargaville (24th May) and Tokatoka (25th May). Those of Helensville (two, of 25th and 26th May) were postponed till after the evidence. The following witnesses were heard: Messrs. Wilks, Jack, Heard, Flanagan, Bollard, M.H.R., and Peake. The evidence was closed at 1 p.m. In committee the minutes of the meeting at Helensville on the 25th May were confirmed with the necessary alteration in the southern itinerary consequent on interpolating a day between the sth and 6th of June so as to include Feilding and Palmerston. The minutes of the Helensville meeting of the 26th May were read and confirmed. Correspondence was dealt with in committee. The Commission adjourned at 3.15 p.m. New Plymouth, Monday, 29th May, 1905. Burgess, Murley, Okey, Stevenson, Price, John Brown, Davis, Forman, Were, Mutray, Morgan, Wade, Veogne, Herlihy, Bauchop, Tait, Trimble, Hale, Pilling, Jennings, M.H.R., Hill, and E. M. Smith, M.H.R. The Commission adjourned at 5.15 p.m. Whangamomona, Wednesday, 31st May, 1905. The Commission met at 10.45 a.m. Present: Messrs. McKerrow (in tin- chair), Paul, Anstey, and McCutchan. Absent on sickleave, Mr. Johnston. The following witnesses were heard : Messrs. Coxhead, Stockwell, Gleeson, Friday, Robertson, llalledd, Moir. Izett, Jennings, Toohey, Geever, and Cleland. The Commission adjourned at 5 p.m. The minutes of the meeting at New Plymouth were read and confirmed.
