No. 130. —Petition of Edmond Caeeigan and Others, of Wellington. Petitionees pray for further compensation for land taken by the Wellington Harbour Board. I am directed to report that the Committee, having taken the evidence of the petitioners, and having heard counsel on both sides, are of the opinion that the petitioners have suffered loss by the legislation of 1898, and that therefore the law should be so amended as to enable them to obtain a rehearing before the Compensation Court. 9th October, 1900.

No. 542.—Petition of Edwin T. Haet and 1,039 Others, of Caversham. Petitionees pray that there be established a uniform scale of teachers' pay throughout the colony.
