Return showing (1) the Names of all Officers and Persons in the Employ of the Railway Commissioners whose Salaries amount to £200 and upwards; (2) the Amount of Salary received by each such Officer; (3) the Amount per Diem that each such Officer received whilst travelling on the Service of the Railway Commissioners; (4) the Amount of Travelling-allowance received during the Financial Year ended 31st March, 1893, and the Three Months ended 30th June, 1893; (5) the Amount of Salary which each such Officer was receiving when the Railway Comniissioners took office, and the Amount received at the 30th June, 1893. Note.—Items marked * include allowances granted while absent from the colony on business of the department. The amounts shown under heading of "Travelling-allowance paid" include also cab-fares, porterage, passage-fares, and actual expenses incurred by officers for days or part days when not away from head-quarters all night. The return in this respect is on same basis as the return presented last session (D.-8, 1893). The columns headed "Rank" show whether alterations in pay are due to promotions to other offices, or to increases under the scale of pay in operation on the Government Railways.
