Considerable improvements have been effected in this building during the year. A new ward, containing five beds, a new consultation-room, and a passage, doing away with the necessity of passing through the wards, have been provided. The institution keeps up its well-deserved reputation, and very great interest is taken by the public in its efficient management.

I made a careful inspection of this hospital, and found no falling-off in any of its departments, a fact which is, in the circumstances, a strong testimony to the devotion of Dr. Menzies and his staff.
