Ordered, " That the Lands Committee have power to sit during the recess and for twenty-eight days after the commencement of the next session at such times as the Committee may see fit, and that the Committee be authorized to visit and inspect the Waipoua State Forest and other kauri stands in that vicinity, and to report upon the petitions relating thereto within twenty-eight days after the commencement of next session." —(Hon. REPORTS Canterbury Museum Trust Board Bill I have the honour to report that the Lands Committee has considered the Canterbury Museum Trust Board Bill, and recommends that, so far as it affects the rights and prerogatives of the Crown, the Bill be allowed to proceed without further amendment. 20th August, 1947. Paeroa Borough Water-supply Empowering Bill I have the honour to report that the Lands Committee has considered the Paeroa Borough Water-supply Empowering Bill, and recommends that, so far as it affects the rights and prerogatives of the Crown, the Bill be allowed to proceed without further amendment. 27th August, 1947. Wellington City and Suburban Water-supply Amendment Bill I have the honour to report that the Lands Committee has considered the Wellington City and Suburban Water-supply Amendment Bill, and recommends that, so far as it affects the rights and prerogatives of the Crown, the Bill be allowed to proceed without further amendment. Bth October, 1947. No. 72.—Petition of Michael Guerin, of Hastings, Hawke's Bay Praying for compensation for alleged wrongful eviction from a farm, and other relief. I have the honour to report that the Lands Committee has carefully considered this petition, and has no recommendation to make. 30th October, 1947. Reserves and other Lands Disposal Bill The Lands Committee, to which was referred the above-named Bill, has the honour to report that it has carefully considered same, and taken evidence thereon, and recommends that it be allowed to proceed with amendment as shown on the copy of the Bill annexed hereto. 19th November, 1947. No. 113. —Petition of W. Ramsay (President of the Electors' Association, Timaru), and eight others, being officers of the South-end Ratepayers' Association, the Caroline Bay Association (Incorporated), the Timaru Beautifying Society, the South Canterbury Men's Hockey Association, the South Canterbury Women's Hockey Association, the South Canterbury Football Association, the South Canterbury Rugby Football Union (Incorporated), and the South Canterbury Baseball Association.

Praying that certain public land dedicated for sport and recreational purposes and forming part of Timaru Park be not transferred to the South Canterbury Hospital Board. I have the honour to report that the Lands Committee has carefully considered this petition, and has no recommendation to make. 20th November, 1947. Land Laws Amendment Bill The Lands Committee, to which was referred the above-named Bill, has the honour to report that it has carefully considered same, and taken evidence thereon, and recommends that it be allowed to proceed with the amendment as shown on the copy of the Bill annexed hereto. 25th November, 1947.
