MEDICAL ATTENDANCE ON NATIVES IN SOUTH ISLAND (Dr. POMARE'S REPORT ON).

Ordered, " That then- l>e laid before this House Dr. Pomare's recent report upon the medical wants of the Smith Island Maoris, showing (I) Tin- medical attendance at the present time provided by the Government for tin- Maori residents of the several kaingas throughout the South Island, commencing at Kaikoura, and extending southwi Kawhakaputaputa, and including Stewart Island and Ruapuke Island; (2) the amount per annum which has been expended by the Government in medicines and subsidies to doctors in the case of eaoh of the said kaingas respectively during the past five years ; and (3) the names of the kaingas throughout the said districts from which Government medical assistance has now been withdrawn."—{Mr. Parata.)
