ORDER OF REFERENCE.

Extract from the Journals of the House of Representatives. Thuksday, the 11th Day of July, 1907. Ordered, " That a Committee be appointed, consisting of ten members, to consider all matters pertaining to agricultural and pastoral industries and stock, with power to confer and sit together with any similar Committee that may be appointed by the Legislative Council, and to agree to a joint or separate report; the Committee to have power to call for persons, papers, and records ; three to be a quorum: the Committee to consist of Mr. Buddo, Hon. Mr. Duncan, Mr. Hogg, Mr. Kidd, Mr. Lang, Mr. Lawry, Mr. Lethbridge, Mr. Okey, Mr. Rutherford, and the mover."—(Hon. Mr. McNab.)

Apiaries Bill. I am directed to report that the Agricultural, Pastoral, and Stock Committee, to whom was referred the above-mentioned Bill, has duly considered the same, and is of opinion that it should be allowed to proceed, subject to the amendments as shown on a copy of the Bill attached hereto. 13th August, 1907.

Nos. 306, 307, 308, 309, 310, and 311.—Petitions of Charles W. Anderson, William Chapman, Charles R. Eason, F. W. Eason, John Forsyth, Jim., F. D. Tyler, all of Katea, Catlin's District. Petitioners pray for relief, owing to losses from bush-fires. I am directed to report that the Committee recommends these petitions be referred to the Lands Committee. 14th August, 1907.

Nos. 606 (1906) and 607 (1906). —Petitions of Kerekeha Huiarangi and 271 Others, and Patupatu Keepa and 70 Others, of Rohe Potae and Waikato Districts. Petitioners pray that rabbit-poisoning in their districts be discontinued, and that the former manner of destroying rabbits be resumed. I am directed to report that the Committee recommends that the petitions be referred to the Government for consideration. 14th August, 1907.

No. 584. —Petition of Donald Kerr, Wellington. Petitioner prays that effect be given to the recommendation made by the Committee on the 23rd October, 1906, in regard to his petition. I am directed to report that the Committee recommends that the petition be referred to the Government for consideration, but that the Committee has no further recommendation to make. 19th September, 1907.

Butter-export Bill. I'am directed to report that the Agricultural, Pastoral, and Stock Committee, to whom was referred the above-mentioned Bill, has duly considered the same, and is of opinion that it should be allowed to proceed, subject to the amendments shown in the copy of the Bill hereto attached. Bth November, 1907.

No. 666.—Petition of Francis William Parker, of Masterton. Petitioner prays for compensation for losses sustained through the operations of the Public Health Act. I am directed to report that, as the petition raises the question of compensating any milksupplier whose dairy is closed by reason of contagious disease in the family, and the matter beinf; one of public policy, the Committee recommends that the petition be referred to the Government for consideration. Bth November, 1907.

Stock Act Amendment Bill. I am directed to report that the Agricultural, Pastoral, and Stock Committee, to whom was referred the above-mentioned Bill, has duly considered the same, and recommends that it be allowed to proceed without amendment. 15th November, 1907.

No. 584. —Petition of Donald Kerr, Wellington. (Second Report.) Petitioner prays that effect be given to the recommendation made by the Committee on the 23rd October, 1906, in regard to his petition. (The Committee's previous report on this petition was referred back by the House to the Committee on the 19th September last for further consideration.) I am directed to report that the Committee has no recommendation to make. 19th November, 190>.
