The Junior Queen's Scholarships were awarded to scholars from the following schools : Stratford District High School, Wanganui District High School, Carterton District High School, Woodville District High School, New Plymouth High School, and Napier Girls' High School. The Senior Queen's Scholarships were awarded to—Ethel M. B. Hall, Napier ; Annie W. Teychenne, Wellington ; Thomas Boyce, Wellington ; and R. B. Gibbons, Wanganui. The Council has to report that this year's session has opened with a considerable increase of students, there being no less than 382 attending lectures. In some of the subjects the classes are as large as to inconveniently till the largest class-rooms available, and one class in English has to be divided, each lecture being twice delivered to the two portions. The completion of the buildings is urgently required; there is no hall in which the students can be assembled for any purpose, and the necessity for large class-rooms is very pressing ; their need would be met by the erection of the two large class-rooms provided in the plan. I enclose a copy of the receipts and expenditure for the year ended the 31st March, 1907. T have, &c, Chas. P. Powles, Registrar.
