HIGH COMMISSIONER FOR NEW ZEALAND, (WARRANT UNDER " THE HIGH COMMISSIONER ACT."1904," APPOINTING THE HON. WILLIAM PEMBER REEVES.
Presented to both Homes of the General Assembly by Command of His Excellency. WAERANT. Plunket, Governor. To the Honourable William Pember Reeves, of the City of London, in England: Greeting. Whbeeas by " The High Commissioner Act, 1905," it is enacted that the Governor in Council may from time to timo appoint some person to be the High Commissioner for New Zealand in the United Kingdom under and for the purposes of that Act : Now, therefore, I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, and in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred upon me by the said Act, do hereby appoint you, the said William Pehbeb Reeves, to be the High Commissioner for New Zealand in the United Kingdom : To have, hold, exercise and enjoy the said office for the period of three years from the date of this warrant, subject' however, to the provisions of the said Act. And I do also require you to enter upon and discharge the duties of the said office in person, except only in case of sickness or other incapacity, and leave of absence first duly granted. Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable William Lee, Baron Plunket, Knight Commander of the Royal Victorian Order, Governor and Com(l.s.) mander-in-Chief over His Majesty's Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies ; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at Wellington, this fourteenth day of June, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and five.
