POLICE PROVIDENT FUND: REPORT OF BOARD OF ADMINISTRATION FOR YEAR ENDED 31st MARCH, 1904.

Laid before Parliament in pursuance of Section 25 (Subsection 6) of " The Police Provident Fund Act, 1899."

The Board have to report that during the year ended 31st March last three sergeants and six constables were retired with annual allowances under the Act and placed on the Fund. The particulars are as follows : —

In addition to the above, Constable George Henry Harris was granted twelve months' pay (£146) on retiring, under section 12, subsection (2). The death of ex-Constable Thomas Harvey, who was in receipt of a life allowance, occurred on the 9th May, 1903. There were on the 31st March last three ex-Inspectors, twelve ex-sergeants, twenty ex-constables, one ex-deteccive, one widow, and two children on the Fund, their aggregate annual allowance being £3,548 17s. Bd. The balance-sheet and statement of receipts and disbursements, as required by section 25 of the Act, are hereto annexed, from which it will be seen that on the 31st March there was a balance to the credit of the Fund of £21,793 lis. 3d., being an increase of £3,375 6s. on the amount at the corresponding date of the preceding year.
