EDUCATION RESERVES, CANTERBURY AND OTAGO (RETURN SHOWING AREA AND VALUE OF).

Return to an Order of the House of Representatives, dated 9th November, 1887. Ordered, "That there be laid before the House a return showing the area, situation, and value of all reserves of rural land of fifty acres in extent and upwards within the Provincial Districts of Canterbury and Otago set apart for the purposes of primary or secondary education or for collegiate endowments. Such return to specify the acreage of each reserve, and to state approximately the distance of each such reserve from the nearest town ; also to show in what body or person such reserves respectively are vested, whether under lease or other tenure, the names of lessees, the rental paid, and the dates at which existing leases or tenure will expire."—(Major Stewabd.)
