COST OF COLLECTING CUSTOMS REVENUE AT EACH PORT OF ENTRY (RETURN OF), FOR YEAR ENDED 31st MARCH, 1885.
Presented to both Houses of the General- Assembly by Command of His Excellency.
Return of the Amount of Customs Gross Collections at each Port of Entry in New Zealand, and the Cost of Collecting the same, for the Financial Period ended 31st March, 1885.
Note. —The cost of collection for the above-named period was 362 lis. 6d. per cent. For the financial year 1883-84 it was 362 12s. 4d. In the United Kingdom the rate per cent, of cost of collection in 1881 was 363 12s. lid., and the average of ten years ending 31st March, 1881, was £3 Bs. 7d.
