COST OF COLLECTING CUSTOMS REVENUE AT EACH PORT OF ENTRY (RETURN OF), FOR YEAR ENDED 31st MARCH, 1883.
Presented to both Souses of the General Assembly by Command of Sis Mxcelleney.
Return of the Amount of Customs Gross Collections at each Port of Entry in New Zealand, and the Cost of Collecting the same, for the Financial Period ended 31st March, 1883.
Note. —The cost of collection for the aboye-named period was £2 9s. per cent. For the financial year 1881-82 it was £2 7s. 2d. In the United Kingdom the rate per cent, of cost of collection in 1881 was £3 12s. lid., and the average of ten years ending 3lßt March, 1881, was £3 Bs. Yd.
