NAVAL AND MILITARY AND LOCAL FORCES LAND CLAIMS COMMISSION. (LETTER FROM MR. JAMES FULTON, M.H.R., CALLING ATTENTION TO CLERICAL ERRORS THEREIN.)

Mr. James Fulton, M.H.R., to the Hon. the Minister of Lands. Sir— Wellington, 7th July, 1882. 1 have the honor to bring to your notice some clerical errors which appear in the schedule of " Applications recommended," appended to the " Report of the Commission on Naval, Military, and Local Forces Land Claims."* In the report (page 5) the Commissioners say, " That, where land has been awarded, scrip available only in the district where the claimant resides should be issued at the rate of 10s. an acre; " but, in the schedule referred to, many cases occur where " 60 acres or £60 scrip " appears to be recommended, whereas it should have been " 60 acres or £30 scrip," in accordance with the recommendation of the Commission.
