POST OFFICE SAVINGS BANKS.

Presented io the House of Representative!, pursuant to Clause 14 of " The Post Office Savings Bank Act, 1867."

STATEMENT SHOWING THE DEPOSITS RECEIA TED AND PAID BY THE POST OFFICE SAVINGS BANKS OF THE COLONY, TOGETHER AVITH THE EXPENSES OF WORKING THE DEPARTMENT, FOR THE YEAR 1876.

ACCOUNT of all Deposit Recieved and Paid at the several post office SAVINGS BANKS in the COLONY of NEW ZEALAND,during the YEAR 1876; OF the BALANCE remaining at the CREDIT of DEPOSITORS on the 31st DECEMBER, including INTERST; and the EXPENSES incurred in working the DEPARTMENT,&C.

Post office savings Banks were established in colony on Ist February 1867. Being interest at the rate of sper cent for the years 1872,1873,1874,1875, and 1876, and at 6 per cent. for previous year.
