LAND TRANSACTIONS, &C., BETWEEN THE GOVERNMENT AND MEMBERS OF THE ASSEMBLY, (RETURN OF).

Return to an Order of the House of 'Representatives, dated 1M September, 1875, " That there be laid upon the Table a Return containing a list of all Members of the General Assembly who during the last five years have sold or transferred, or contracted to sell or transfer, any property, real or personal, to the Crown, or to any person on behalf of the Crown or the Colonial Government, for railway or other purposes j specifying in each case the nature and quantity of the property, with the date of the contract; the date of the deed of completion, and a precis of the covenants contained or implied. Also, a Return of all the Members of the General Assembly who during the last five years have made any contracts with the Crown or Government other than as above mentioned, specifying the nature of the contract, with the date when entered into, and whether completed or still pending." — {Mr. Buckland.)

William T. Buckxand. 1. Conveyance to the Crown of freehold of 10,000 acres of the Oruanui Block, District of Taupe, Province of Auckland. Consideration, £2,000. Date of deed of conveyance, 2nd April, 1871. 2. Transfer to the Crown of a lease of twenty-one years, commencing on 4th October, 1873, of 20,142 acres, of the Oruanui Block, District of Taupo, Province of Auckland. Consideration, £50. Date of deed of transfer, 2nd April, 1874. 3. Transfer to the Crown of his interest in Taharua Block, 13,900 acres, District of Taupo, Province of Auckland. Consideration, £500. Date of payment, 7th March, 1874. John Sheehax. Agreement to convey to the Crown Pakiri Block, 31,400 acres, District of Kaipara, Province of Auckland, for £1,600. Date of deed of agreement and payment of purchase money, 12th May, 1874. Mr. Sheehau was acting as trustee of Wi Apo, au infant. John Stujoholice. Agreement re lease of Muriiuotu Block. Date of payment, April, 1875. 2. Kent of Store M, from 31st March, 1875, to 30th June, 1875 ; thirteen weeks, at 20s. per week. Amount paid, £13. Date of payment, July, 1875.
