1874. NEW ZEALAND.

NATIVE RESERVES ACCOUNTS, TARANAKI, FOR YEAR ENDED 30TH JUNE, 1874.

Presented to both Houses of the General Assembly by command of His Excellency.

Mr. Paeeis to Major Heaphy. Sib,— . New Plymouth, Ist July, 1874. I have the honor to forward herewith my Native Reserves accounts for the year ending 30th June, 1874, for examination, before publishing them in the Provincial Gazette. I have also forwarded a tabulated return of all the other Native reserves which are not included in the accounts first named, with remarks as to the condition of each. By the receipt and expenditure account, it will be seen that a few of the tenants are in arrears with their rent, and I have explained to them that I am liable to be charged with laxity for allowing it. All the leases are drawn for the rent to be paid half-yearly. . I have, &c, R. Paeeis, Major Heaphy, Commissioner, Native Reserves, Commissioner for Native Reserves, Wellington.

AN ACCOUNT of all MONEY RECEIVED and EXPENDED by the COMMISSIONER for NATIVE RESERVES, New Plymouth, from the 1st July, 1873, to the 30th June, 1874.
