REPORT OF THE COMMISSIONERS O"F AUDIT ON THE ACCOUNT OF MONEYS RAISED UNDER " THE IMMIGRATION AND PUBLIC WORKS LOAN ACT, 1870," AND OF THE EXPENDITURE THEREOF, DURING THE FINANCIAL YEAR 1872-73. The Commissioners of Audit have examined the accompanying Accounts, in accordance with the 17th section of "The Immigration and Public Works Loan Act, 1870." The only point "which the Commissioners feel called upon to notice is that moneys which were issued against the votes as advances and were still outstanding as advances on the 30th June, are not charged against the votes in these- Accounts. The Commissioners consider that the Account is not in this particular in accordance with the Revenues Act of 1872. James Edward FitzGeeald, lGth September, 1873. Commissioner of Audit. Memorandum. As regards the Balance of Advances made in the Colony (£41,172 9s. Od.), a statement showing the outstanding amount issued under each vote has now been appended to the Account. As respects the Balance of the Foreign Imprest Account (£1,273 15s. 10d.), it is impossible to determine the vote to which the amount is chargeable. C. T. Batkin, Treasury, lGth September, 1873. Secretary to Treasury. By Authority: Geoege Didsbubt, Government Printer, Wellington.—lB73. Price Gd.]
