INDOOR BASKETBALL

Interesting games were played in the Hamilton indoor basketball competition this week. Thursday’s games were postponed but will be played later in the season.- Perhaps the best men’s game to date was the replay between Kiwis and Cardinals, the former winning by the superior combination of R. McGregor, A. Wall, G. Hewson. A. Crossan and C. Fogarty. Most outstanding for Cardinals were B. Jenkin, H. Banks, W. Higginson and A. Taylor. The Times team showed considerable improvement to beat Rovers. K. Goldsbrough shot well, supported by C. McLeod and K. Brown. K. Webster, R. Kemp and E. Petrie played well for Rovers. In the women’s section F.A.C. and Public Service, now equal in position, played a fast game, F.A.C. winning by a goal. J. Gibson and A. Phelan were top goalers, while excellent all round play was displayed by E. Reese. J. Cook, J. Hargreaves., S. Benson and J. Fitzgerald.
