Afterwards the three entered the dance hall. Inspector’s Escape From Death Members of the Hamilton Borough Council last night were told of what was described by Mr A. J. Denz as a miraculous escape from death by one of the borough inspectors when he was involved in a recent collision with the Rotorua-Auckland express. Mr Denz said that the inspector was driving a council car over the line near the locomotive sheds at Frankton where there was no regular crossing. His notice was distracted by three girl cyclists, one of whom was riding with both hands off the handlebars, and he failed to observe the train, which was running almost two hours late. The council decided to dispose of the badly damaged car by tender.
