AIRMAN’S THEFT
PLEA BY COUNSEL
A remand until September 29 in order that a report could be obtained from the probation officer was ordered by Mr S. L. Paterson, S.M., when John Leonard Moody, aged 29, aircraftman, was charged with the theft of Air Force equipment, valued at £ll 15s, on September 16 and the theft of a watch, valued at £5 10s, on June 16. Accused was represented by Mr A. L. Tompkins, who said the Air Force equipment accused had taken was waste material. The theft of the watch had been the result of a sudden temptation. Accused had served overseas and in view of this counsel asked the magistrate to give h ; m a chance.
