AUSTRALIAN ORANGES 500 CASES FOR HOSPITALS (By Telegraph.—Press Association! WELLINGTON. Friday New Zealand hospitals will benefit by the generosity of Captain D. Halhed, of Merboin, Victoria, chairman of the Victorian Central Citrus Growers’ Association. During the visit of the acting-Director of Internal Marketing, Mr R. P. P’raser, to the citrus growing areas on the Murray River in .South Australia and Victoria, Captain Hnlhcd offered 500 cases of oranges from his grove for free distribution to hospitals in New Zealand. Two of the main co-operative packing sheds agreed to pack the fruit free. The Victorian State railways and cartage agents are providing free transport within the Commonwealth, and the trans-Tasman freight will also be free for the gift of oranges, which will be imported to New Zealand by the Internal Marketing Department. Allocation to hospitals will be made through the Hospital Boards Association, railway transport being free.
