GENERAL’S THANKS
AWARD OF DECORATION TRIBUTE TO DIVISION (By Telegraph.—Press Association) WELLINGTON, Saturday In the course of a cable message to the Prime Minister, the Rt. Hon. P. Fraser, Lieutenant-General B. C. Freyberg, V.C., General Officer Commanding the New Zealand Division, tendered his thanks to the people of New Zealand who had expressed and felt satisfaction at the award of K.C.B. to him recently. “Please tell them,” General Freyberg said, “that I shall treat the honour with great pride, knowing well it was given to me as commander of the New Zealand Division as a token of the deep appreciation of the exceptional services of the divi- | sion during the Greece, Crete and Western Desert campaigns.”
