WEDDING

POULTNEY—BRADLEY A charming wedding was solemnised at St. Paul’s Methodist Church, London Street, on Wednesday, March 4, when Mona Doreen, only daughter of Mr and Mrs D. Bradley, Bell Street, Claudelands, was married to Stephen Arthur, elder son of Mr and Mrs H. E. Poultney, Galloway Street, Hamilton East. The Rev. R. B. Tinsley officially, and Mr H. Cook presided at the organ. During the signing of the register a solo was rendered by Miss C. Treloar. The bride, who entered the church with her father, wore a flowing gown of cream georgette designed with short puffed sleeves, and a full skirt which fell to form a train. The bodice was softly draped into a tightly fitted corsage with a plaited georgette girdle finishing in front with a small bow. Her embroidered tulle veil was held in place by a topknot of lotus flowers and silver leaves and she carried a bouquet of cream roses, tiger lilies and maidenhair fern. The bride was attended by Miss Joy Petch and Miss Una Rothwell, who wore similar frocks of lime green cut on lines similar to the bride’s. Their picture hats were of maize gold stiffened net, trimmed with a self-coloured rose. They carried bouquets of maize-shaded chrysanthemums and dahlias. The bridegroom was attended by Mr K. Bradley, brother of the bride, as best man, and Mr J. Patten, uncle of the bridegroom, was groomsman. Messrs E. Poultney and G. Bradley were the ushers. After the ceremony a reception was held in the Centreway Rooms where the bride’s mother received her guests in a teal ensemble and toning hat. She carried a bouquet of clover shades. Mrs Poultney was wearing a grey ensemble with hat to match, her posy being of red flowers. When Mr and Mrs S. A. Poultney left on their honeymoon the bride was wearing a moss green frock and braided bolero with black accessories. •
