SOCIAL NOTES
Miss N. P. Fitzgibbon, Nursing Adviser to the Dominion Council of the Plunket Society, is visiting Hamilton. Mrs R. H. F. Travers, Hamilton, is spending a holiday with her daughter, Mrs J. D. Cochrane, Fendalton, Christchurch. Mrs E. M. Beechey, who has been visiting Hamilton, has returned to Auckland. Mrs McMullen and Miss A. V. Carter, of Auckland, are spending a holiday at Hamilton on their return from Rotorua. Mrs Brett and Miss O. Niven, Auckland, Mrs J. Sweeney, Wellington, Mrs S. Yates, Kaitaia, and Mrs H. D. Cameron, Hawera, are at the Commercial Hotel. The first Royal pantomime on record in England was given when Prinpess Elizabeth and Princess Margaret Rose presented “Cinderella” in aid of the Royal Household wool fund. The King and Queen were in the front row seats, and included in the audience were some 200 troops. A further series of Plunket aid lectures is being conducted by the Hamilton Plunket Society. The lectures are held in the Plunket rooms on each Wednesday and are eliciting keen interest throughout.
