WEDDING
SMITH—HI'TT The marriage was solemnised at St Peter's Cathedral. Hamilton, on the afternoon of Saturday, December 6, between Mary Louise, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs A. Hutt, Waingaro Road, Ngaruawahia, and Walter, only son of Mr and Mrs W. Nisbet Smith, of Te Rapa. The Right Rev. C. A. Cherrington, Bishop of Waikato, performed the ceremony. The same prayer book was used in the ceremony as was used in the marriage of the bride’s parents in Witney, Oxford, England. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a charming frock of rose du Barry mouseline. The bodice was arranged with V shaped panels from the shoulder line, elbow length sleeves, and a tiny collar embroidered in blue. The skirt was finished with two embroidered pouched pockets. She wore a picture hat of blue baku straw, and carried a shower bouquet of pink sweet peas. Miss Rachel Lees presented the bride with an ivory satin horseshoe arranged with orange blossoms and ribbons After the ceremony the reception, at which only relatives and close friends were present, was held at the Centreway Rooms, which were at* tractively arranged with pinks stocks, sweet peas and delphiniums. Mrs A. Hutt received her guests wearing a smart ensemble of navy crepe soi. and a matching hat of cream straw. Mrs Nisbet Smith, mother of the bridegroom, wore a frock of navy matt crepe, with a toning hat. Mrs W. Hutt, grandmother of the bride, was wearing a navy sheer ensemble. When Mr and Mrs D. Nisbet Smith left by car for the honeymoon, the bride travelled wearing a navy frock, with a dusky pink swing coat.
