JAPAN’S AIR LOSSES MINE-SWEEPER SUNK (United Press Assn. —Eiec. Tel. Copyright; (Received Dec. 10, 11.40 a.m.) MANILA, Dec. 9 General Macarthur said today that the Japanese sustained considerable aerial losses in yesterday’s attack on the Philippines. It is officially announced that the United States mine-sweeper Penguin was sunk by the Japanese outside Guam harbour.
The Army announced today that one United States soldier was killed and 12 injured in a raid before dawn on Fort Nichols today. Two others were injured in the bombing of Fort McKinley.
