CAMBRIDGE TROOPS LABOUR DAY RACES ARRANGEMENTS BEING MADE Although it is definite that the Labour Day races at Cambridge will be held on the course, where men of the Waikato Regiment are in camp, arrangements are being made so that the training of the troops will not be interrupted. The camp will be evacuated on the day and the troops will be given training elsewhere. Full arrangements have not yet been made, but it is expected that the men will mess in the Cambridge Town Hall and the Cambridge Drill Hall on the day. They may have a lengthy route march as training. The course will be made fully available to the Hunt Club by the military authorities, but it is understood that the men’s tents will not be struck. The marquees, which are near the totalisator house, will have to be removed and the totalisator house, which is being used as a messroom, vacated and re-prepared for the races. Other buildings which are being used as a Y.M.C.A. messroom for the men and orderly rooms, will also be vacated for the day.
