SPECIAL LEAVE

TROOPS IN WAIKATO A large number of troops arrived in Hamilton today from the Hopu Hopu and Te Rapa military camps. Men from Te Rapa and several units in training at Hopu Hopu have been granted special leave extending over eight days. A ‘large number travelled north during the day and others will leave for their homes in the south tonight. The men who have been granted leave comprise, in the main part, members of the third echelon of the Second New Zealand Expeditionary Force who were transferred from southern camps to Te Rapa and Hopu Hopu several weeks ago.
