ROLLER MILLS SHIELD SECTION (By Telegraph.—Special to Times) AUCKLAND, Friday The play-off in the B section of the Roller Mills Shield schools Rugby tournament resulted in Auckland Central and Thames Valley drawing, 3—3. Yates kicked a penalty goal for Auckland in the first few minutes, but there was no further score until late in the second spell, when Frisken scored for Thames Valley. This player was unlucky not to be credited with another try a moment later. After time had expired, the judicial committee decided that the teams should play two further five-minute spells, but there was no further score, and the issue was decided by tossing. Auckland Central was awarded the decision. In a practice match Auckland North defeated Waikato A, present holders of the shield, by 9 points to nil. Tries for Auckland North were scored by Corlett, Patrick and Bowden. The final between Auckland Central, representing the Eden Park and Western Suburbs groups in the Primary Schools’ competition, and Auckland North, representing the Domain, Victoria Park and North Shore groups, is set down for 12.30 p.m. on the Eden Park oval tomorrow.
