BIG NUMBERS FOR CLASSES (By Telegraph.—Press Association) WELLINGTON, Friday In a statement to-night the Minister of Defence, the IJon. F. Jones, said that some 2300 men of the air crew section were undergoing educational training in the Dominion. When the air crew selection committee’s tour was completed shortly the number would be increased by some 700 or 800 men. The value of this form of preliminary training started in New Zealand was being realised in other parts of the Empire, said the Minister. He had been informed that Australia was adopting the same scheme. The New Zealand liaison officer in Melbourne had conveyed the thanks of the Commonwealth authorities for details supplied of the New Zealand scheme.
