NATIONAL MEETING OFF (By Telegraph.—Special to Times) WELLINGTON,* Thursday The management committee of the New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association last night decided, on the motion of Mr J. W. Holley, that national open championships shall be discontinued for the duration of the war. The motion was carried on the voices. It was pointed out that the junior and women’s championships would not be affected. It would mean, however, the cancellation of the August cross-country championships. _____________
