COLOURS PRESENTED

A PICTURESQUE CEREMONY IRISH AND WELSH GUARDS (Omclal Wireless) RUGBY, Feb. 14 A battalion of Irish Guards and one of Welsh Guards received new colours from the King, who is their Colonel-in-Chief. The presentation to the Irish Guards took place at the Wellington Barracks parade ground, where the battalion was drawn up in a hollow square. After an Inspection the new colours were laid on the piled drums and consecrated by the Catholic Bishop-in-Qrdinary to the Army, and then handed over by His Majesty to the colour party. As is customary the whole battalion. with the new colours, marched past the King.

The picturesque ceremony was repeated at the Tower, where a battalion of Welsh Guards was stationed.
