LEASE OF RACEHORSE STATEMENT BY PREMIER (Unitea Press Assn.—Etec. Tel. Copyright) MELBOURNE, Feb. 15 The Prime Minister, Mr R. G. Menzies, stated to-day that he intended to ignore Mr A. G. Cameron’s demand for the resignation of the Minister of Trade and Customs, Mr N. J. Lawson, as the result of his lease of a racehorse from Mr W. J. Smith, general manager of Australian Consolidated Industries. He was prepared to make available to Mr J. Curtin, Labour leader, and Mr Cameron all the relevant files associated with the agreement between the Government and Australian Consolidated Industries for the manufacture af motor-cars in Australia.
