RAIN OF STEEL DARTS
DROPPED BY NAZI PLANE ATTACK ON BRITISH TRAWLER (United Presß A**r —tlec. Tel. Copyrlglit) LONDON, Feb. 15 A German Heinkel aeroplane rained hundreds of steel darts on the traw'ler Russell, during an attack. This w'as revealed today by the skipper, who told of the inferno which the aeroplane created aboard his little craft. Besides dropping darts, the Heinkel raked the vessel six times with a storm of bullets, and let go dozens of incendiary bombs, which burned holes an inch deep in the trawler’s metal plates. The crew took to a boat and the aeroplane pilot, thinking the vessel was about to sink, waved and disappeared. Undaunted, the crew- w'ent aboard again, put out the fires and made port.
