MANY GIFTS TO BRITAIN MONEY, AMBULANCE, FOOD (Oflietm Wireless) (Received Feb. 16, 11 am.) RUGBY, Feb. 15 War contributions in money and kind continue to reach the Viceroy from all classes of Indian society. Their magnitude and generosity are illustrated by the range of the donations, w’hich include, in addition lo substantial sums of money, the workshops of the Bhavnagar State Railway for the manufacture of munitions, etc., an ambulance unit with 32 stretcher bearers, and food and agricultural produce.
Questioned in the House of Commons as to how many refugees had received the £2OO emigration grant since the Czech trustees were appointed. the Home Secretary Mid that between July 21 and February 7, 311 grants, representing 570 perons. totalling £54,080. had been paid trust respecting aettlemenU outside Britain.
