CENSORSHIP BUNGLE
ARRIVAL OF THE ANZACS EXPLANATION IN AUSTRALIA PLAN TO PREVENT REPETITION (United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyrlgrtt) MELBOURNE, Feb. 15 The Prime Minister, Mr R. G. Menzies, had a discussion today with the War Cabinet and the Minister of Information, Sir Henry Gullett, on the censorship bungle regarding the arrival of the Anzacs at Suez. Mr Menzies said that Sir Henry disclaimed responsibility for the trouble, which apparently was caused by {he last-minute intervention oi somebody in the defence services, who had over-ridden the arrangements made between the Ministry of Information and the newspapers. The Prime Minister explained to journalists last night that a plan would be evolved within a week to prevent a repetition of the anomalies, confusion and delay to which the newspapers had been subjected in connection with troop movements.
