BLACK SEA FLEET
IN FIGHTING TRIM PROTECTION OF OILFIELDS (United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright) LONDON, Feb. 12 The Moscow correspondent of the Times states that Admiral Okibarsky, Commander-in-Chief of the Black Sea Fleet, reveals that the fleet was already in fighting trim in 1939. The surface and submarine fleets have been doubled and the antiaircraft and coastal defences increased. The fleet is now capable of protecting the rich oilfields in the Baku region, which provide more than half the Soviet oil supplies.
