TURKISH SUBMARINE

GERMAN PLOT FOILED SEIZURE OF KKUPPS’ YARD (United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright) LONDON, February 12 The Belgrade correspondent of the Times says the seizure of Krupps’ yard on .February 8 prevented the German attempt to steal a Turkish submarine. Two submarines had been launched and one was nearly ready when twenty extra specialists arrived from Germany, ostensibly for the trials. The Turks became suspicious when the specialists suggested that in view of the danger of the first trials there should be an entirely German crew.

Suspicion increased when stores far in excess of those needed for the trial were demanded. The authorities informed the Government, which ordered the occupation of the yards.
