CAMP ENTERTAINMENT
C ONCEKT PARTIES PROVIDED
Mrs N. E. Blomfield presided over a meeting of the Hamilton Women’s Patriotic Executive Camp Entertainment Committee, held in the Bledisloe Hall, when the following ladies were present:—Mesdames T. Parker, I. Owsley, H. C. Ross, D. Bradley, H. McLean, C. Croall, R. Street, J. W. Connell, A. Miller, C. Holloway, D. I. Gate and W. M. Huntington (joint secretaries).
Mrs Blomfield reported that since October 24, twenty-six concert parties had been provided by the entertainment committee for the men in camp at Hopu Hopu. Major Sinclair Read and Mr Mclver (Y.M.C.A.), on behalf of the men, had expressed appreciation of the committee’s efforts in this direction. Prior to the departure of the First Echelon a farewell concert was organised, the entertainment committee providing the first half of the programme while the men themselves were responsible for the second portion. The function was most successful and thoroughly enjoyed by all. The transport committee was thanked for conveying concert parties to camp and a vote of deep appreciation was passed to all those artists who had so willingly given their services.
