Canada and the United States have jointly begun to clear their frontier, especially in heavily-forested areas, in order to prevent the entry of spies and saboteurs, while Canada has increased the frontier patrol. Congress has approved funds for the clearance work.
The German freighter La Coruna, of 7414 tons, has sailed, from Reo de Janeiro heavily laded, although she has a declared cargo of only 1600 tons, including 30,000 bags of coffee, 2000 cases of lard, and mica and nickel ore. __
