COAL UNION’S THREAT
DIRECT ACTION PROPOSED DEMAND FOR CONFERENCE (United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright) (Received Feb. 9, 12.15 a.m.) SYDNEY, Feb. 9 A combined mining unions’ committee has sent a demand to the colliery proprietors for a conference before the end of the month to negotiate a new agreement. In an official statement the committee declared “that failing a satisfactory agreement the unions will be compelled to take direct and immediate action to enforce their demands.’’
