The full accounts of the New Zealand Refrigerating Company, Limited, for the year ended October 31, 1939, which are now available, .-how total assets at £1,677,913, a rise of £243.610. The net profit was £50,065, against £48,191 in 1933. The balance-sheet shows that paid capital remains at £636,310 and reserve account at £IOO,OOO. Rebuilding reserve is £6829 higher at £30,103. Sundry debtors and provision for income tax at £520,374 shows a rise of £129,738. Fixed assets total £861,380, a rise of £51,457, a drop of £25,119 in land, buildings and plant being offset by an increase of £76,576 in investments in subsidiaries. Stocks are £194,151 higher at £507,566.

LARGER PROFIT SHOWN A net profit of £25,359, against £21,934 in 1938 and £30,985 in 1937. is shown in the accounts of the Southland Frozen Meat and Produce Export Company. Limited, for the year ended December 31, 1939. The dividend recommendation at the rate of 6 2-3 per cent per annum is unchanged. After payment of the dividend, the carry-forward will be £49,244. against £46.704 brought in.
